Cause:
Update of the security protocol on the online-translator.com server (API connection to the server enables translation for online directions)

Solution:
Update the PROMT application modules:
  1. Download the updated modules PTA2.exe and Promt.Desktop.exe 
  2. Shut down all PROMT applications;
  3. Replace the Promt.Desktop.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\<product name>\Clients\Desktop
  4. Replace the PTA2.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\<product name>\Clients\PTA
  5. Launch PROMT application and check the functionality of the online translation directions.
* Windows7 may require additional system configuration settings (connection of TLS1.2)  for debugging the performance of online translation directions.

Installation of the dictionary collection that you purchased in addition to your PROMT product is performed using a special dictionary installer program (included with your product). During installation, you must activate the collection being installed - see the article When to activate the PROMT dictionary collection.

Before completing the installation of the PROMT dictionary collection, shut down all MS Office, Internet Explorer, and PROMT applications. After that you should do the following:
  1. Run the distribution to install the collection of dictionaries;
  2. Specify the path to the directory where the distribution package will be unpacked (default: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\P20_DictCollections_DC20_0001);
  3. Wait until the unpacking is completed, and then follow the instructions of the installation wizard:
    • Select an action – «Install a collection of dictionaries» and click «Next»;
    • Specify the path to the installation files (see the article How to correctly specify the path to the installation files when installing dictionaries)
    • Enter the license number, and click «Next»;
    • Select the desired collection of dictionaries and click «Next»;
      * Please note that the selected collection of dictionaries will be linked and assigned to the license number that you entered.

Activation is an anti-piracy technology designed to authenticate PROMT software products. Upon activation, it is checked that the license number of the product is genuine and is used on the number of computers that does not exceed the number of computers allowed in the license.

Activation is a simple process that can be done over the Internet or over the phone. In most cases, activation is required to be performed only once for the entire time the product is used. In some cases, for example, after reinstalling the program, you need to reactivate the program.

When activated via the Internet, data is exchanged between the user's computer and the PROMT activation server. If activation is done over the phone, the user informs the PROMT technical support service about the product data displayed in the PROMT activation wizard, and then receives an activation code from PROMT. The data transmitted and received in this case are used only for activation. The data collected during activation is not used to determine the identity of the user.

The PROMT dictionary collection must be activated during the installation process.
Some collections of PROMT dictionaries are a package of several collections (for example, «Business», «Industry», «Science», etc.), from which you can choose any collection to install. You can sel ect a collection fr om a package only once. When you activate the selected collection, it is bound to your licensed collection number and your computer. This means that if you need to reinstall the dictionary collection, you should install the previously selected collection.

You can activate the PROMT product in automatic or manual mode.
Run the activation wizard when starting any PROMT application. If your computer is connected to the Internet, then automatic mode is most convenient. In this case, you do not need to perform any actions, just select the automatic mode and the PROMT product will be activated.

You can use manual mode if your computer does not have a permanent Internet connection. In this case, you can get the activation code in one of three ways:
